The Djangle Box Project is a quartet led by guitarist Al Watsky That explores the intersection of traditional Eastern European melody, Roma song ,Middle Eastern rhythm, Jazz and the energy of rock and pop.
Their leader Al Watsky, Guitar , has traveled the world concertizing with David Krakauer and his wacky sidekick Josh(SoCalled) Dolgin in several projects such as Klezmer Madness, Abraham Inc. and the SoCalled Orchestra.
Marty Fogel, Sax and Clarinet has played with Lou Reed and Don Cherry and has released his own albums on ECM as the Every Man Band.
Dave Licht , Drums is a master if improvisation and is a founding member of the Grammy winning band Klezmatics.
Brian Glassman, Upright and Electric Bass, has worked and recorded with everyone on the Jewish music scene and is on staff at Princeton University.
On the recently released CD, "Al Watsky and The Djangle Box Project" the band presents original and traditional material that integrates Yiddish dance rhythm with modern harmany, sinuous melodic lines and masterful improvisation.
